Outdoor learning is more than 'just playing'! It is an ideal way to support holistic child development in fun, engaging ways! This in-person, 6-clock hour professional development workshop examines how to embrace outdoor learning in any setting and hone your own connection to the natural world. We will consider developmentally appropriate practices, connecting outdoor play and learning to the standards expected in a school setting, and discuss how teachers expand learning opportunities through thoughtful questioning and sharing in their students' wonder and curiosity.

Participants will come away with new age appropriate outdoor games to honor childhood passions, ideas for nature connection-centered activities and experiences,  and inspiration for songs and art provocations. While this workshop is open to educators working with children of all ages, the content will be geared towards those working with children ages 3-5 years old and 5-8 years old (however, everything can be adapted to meet the age of your students!).
